De gelijkenis van het onkruid en de tarwe.
Christus Jezus is het centrum van het leven van een kind van God. Zijn Boodschap is er één van genade, maar ze doet tegelijkertijd een beroep op onze verantwoordelijkheid. Wie zich tegen de Heere Jezus verzet en het koninkrijk van God afwijst, creeërt voor zichzelf een ergere situatie dan de tijd voordat de boodschap kwam. Dat is gauw gezegd, maar het kan erg moeilijk zijn om je oude leven te verlaten! Als illustratie wees Christus met een groots gebaar op Zijn leerlingen, en gaf hen een plaats boven Zijn eigen familie. “ Wie de wil van mijn Vader in de hemel doet, die is mijn broeder, zuster, en moeder. “ riep Hij uit. ( Math. 12: 50 ) Dit moet toch zeker Maria`s hart pijn hebben gedaan!
Nog dezelfde dag verliet Jezus het huis waar Hij woonde. Hij zette Zich neer aan de oever van het meer van Galilea. Veel wonderen had Hij verricht! Hij bleek onvermoeid in goeddoen en spreken. Het is opvallend dat de tegenstand die Hij eerder op de dag ondervonden had, Hem geen moment hinderden bij de voortgang van Zijn werk. Christus bezat niets! Hij had geen eigen huis, zelfs geen kerkgebouw om het volk toe te spreken. Sprak Hij enkele woorden dan werd Hij meteen aangevallen door de farizeeën en schriftgeleerden. Soms werd Hij uit de synagoge gezet. Gelukkig was het weer altijd goed in Israël, er was geen enkel bezwaar tegen een openluchtdienst. Een grote mensenmassa verzamelde zich om Hem heen. Jezus koos een boot uit als kansel en verwijderde Zich een eindje van de waterkant. Alle mensen zetten zich neer in het gras, en de dienst begon! Veel Joodse leraren maakten gebruik van gelijkenissen om bepaalde punten uit hun lessen te illustreren. De Heere Jezus ging nog een stap verder, en gaf Zijn lessen uitsluitend in gelijkenissen. Daarbij gebruikte Hij voorbeelden uit het dagelijks leven om Zijn luisteraars uit te leggen wat Hij precies bedoelde. God maakte een begin met de uitleg van Zijn verborgen plan voor de wereld! Hij opende Zijn mond en zei:
“ Een boer ging naar zijn land om te zaaien. Tijdens het zaaien viel een gedeelte van het zaad op de weg. Vogels aten het op. Een ander deel van het zaad viel op rotsachtige grond waar maar weinig diepte van aarde was. Het zaad schoot meteen op omdat de wortels niet al te diep de grond in konden groeien. Toen de zon opkwam, verschroeide het, en omdat het nagenoeg geen wortels had, droogde het uit. Nog weer een ander deel kwam tussen de distels terecht. Tegelijk met het zaad schoten deze distels op, en zij verstikten het zaaigoed. Gelukkig viel er nog wat zaad in goede grond! Het bracht vruchten voort! Deels honderdvoudig, deels zestigvoudig en deels dertigvoudig. Wie oren heeft om te horen moet goed luisteren.” Zo beëindigde de Meester deze gelijkenis. ( Math. 13 : 1 – 9 ) Bronnen: kantt.
